Painted after a dog ghymkhana at SCEGGS, North Sydney, the school attended by the artist's daughter Enid. The artist was interested in prismatic colour. Although it was raining, when you looked through the rain drops it became a lively scene. The curve of the umbrella, with poetic licence, repeated the shape of rain drops.
